Chicken Parmesan Grilled Cheese Sandwich
Ingredients:
– 2 slices of bread (a robust option like sourdough is recommended)
– 1 cup cooked chicken breast, either shredded or sliced
– 1/2 cup marinara sauce
– 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
– 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
– 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
– 1/2 teaspoon dried basil (optional)
– 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Chicken:
– If not already done, cook and either shred or slice the chicken breast. You may utilize leftovers or prepare it fresh. Season with salt and pepper according to your preference.
2. Assemble the Sandwich:
– Apply a thin layer of marinara sauce on one side of each slice of bread.
– Place the shredded chicken on top of the sauce on one slice.
– Evenly distribute the Parmesan and mozzarella cheeses over the chicken.
– Optionally, add dried basil and garlic powder for enhanced flavor.
– Cover with the other slice of bread, ensuring the sauce side is facing down.
3. Cook the Sandwich:
– Heat a skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil or butter, adjusting as necessary for a crispier texture.
