Cowboy Butter Dipping Sauce
Cowboy Butter Dipping Sauce
Ingredients:
– 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
– 2 tablespoons olive oil
– 4 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional, for added tang)
– 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
– 1 tablespoon lemon zest
– 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
– 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives
– 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (or regular paprika)
– 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust according to desired spice level)
– 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
– 1/4 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (or to taste)
Instructions:
1. Melt the butter:
In a medium saucepan or skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Once it has melted, incorporate the olive oil.
2. Add the garlic and spices:
Introduce the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for approximately 1-2 minutes until it becomes fragrant, taking care not to let it burn. Then, mix in the Dijon mustard (if using), lemon juice, lemon zest, paprika, cayenne pepper, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Allow the mixture to simmer gently for 1-2 minutes to blend the flavors.
3. Incorporate the fresh herbs:
Remove the sauce from the heat and fold in the freshly chopped parsley and chives.
4. Serve:
Transfer the cowboy butter to a serving bowl and present it warm alongside your preferred meats, seafood, bread, or vegetables. It can also be drizzled over grilled chicken, shrimp, or steak to enhance the flavor.
