Garlic Parmesan Pizza Grilled Cheese

Ingredients:
Garlic Parmesan Butter:
¼ cup softened unsalted butter
4 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
½ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon salt

Grilled Cheese:
8 thick slices of robust bread (sourdough or Italian)
1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup pizza or marinara sauce
24 thin slices of pepperoni

Instructions:
Preheat a large skillet or griddle over medium-low heat.
In a mixing bowl, blend the butter, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt until well combined.
Apply half of the butter mixture to one side of four slices of bread. Place these slices, buttered side down, in the skillet.
On each slice, spread 1 tablespoon of pizza sauce, followed by ¼ cup of mozzarella cheese, 6 slices of pepperoni, and the remaining mozzarella.
Spread sauce on the other four slices of bread and place them, sauce side down, atop the cheese. Apply the remaining garlic butter on top.
Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese has melted.
Allow to cool slightly, cut in half, and serve with additional pizza sauce.
Savor this delicious and cheesy variation of a traditional grilled cheese sandwich.
