Savory Beef Tips Recipe

Ingredients:

– 2 lbs beef tips or stew meat
– 2 tablespoons olive oil
– 1 large onion, chopped
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 2 cups beef broth
– 1 cup red wine (optional, can substitute with additional beef broth)
– 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
– 1 teaspoon dried thyme
– 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
– 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
– 1/4 cup water
– Salt and pepper to taste
– Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Directions:

1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium-high heat.

2. Add the beef tips and brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

3. In the same skillet, add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

4. Stir in the beef broth, red wine (if using), Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, and dried rosemary. Bring the mixture to a boil.

5. Return the beef tips to the skillet, reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours, or until the beef is tender.

6. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and water until smooth. Gradually stir this mixture into the skillet to thicken the gravy.

7. Cook for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the gravy has thickened to your desired consistency. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

8. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving.

– Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or noodles for a comforting meal.
