Caramel Pecan Dream Bars Recipe

Ingredients:

For the Crust:
– 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
– 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
– 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, softened

For the Filling:
– 1 cup (200g) packed brown sugar
– 1/2 cup (120ml) light corn syrup
– 2 large eggs
– 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1 1/2 cups (150g) chopped pecans
– 1/2 cup (120ml) caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions:

1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.

2. Make the Crust: In a medium bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and softened butter. Mix until a crumbly dough forms. Press the dough evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan.

3. Bake the Crust: Bake the crust for 15-18 minutes, or until lightly golden. Remove from the oven and set aside.

4. Prepare the Filling: In a large bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, flour, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined. Stir in the chopped pecans.

5. Assemble the Bars: Pour the pecan mixture over the baked crust, spreading it out evenly. Drizzle the caramel sauce over the top of the pecan mixture.

6. Bake: Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, or until the filling is set and the edges are golden.

7. Cool and Serve: Let the bars cool completely in the pan before cutting them into squares. Serve and enjoy these rich, buttery treats!
